Understanding Builds Confidence

Recovering from a concussion or traumatic brain injury can leave patients and families searching for reliable information.

At the Komer Brain Science Institute, we believe education is an important part of healing. Understanding your condition, your recovery, and your treatment options helps you make informed decisions and participate actively in your care.

Featured Resource – New Hope for Concussions, TBI and PTSD

One of our primary educational resources is 'New Hope for Concussions, TBI and PTSD.' The book explores the complex nature of concussion and traumatic brain injury while explaining many of the factors that may influence recovery, including brain health, hormonal function, persistent symptoms, recovery strategies, functional medicine, patient stories, and hope for recovery.

Resources for Patients

We continue to develop educational materials to help patients better understand concussion and traumatic brain injury, brain health, hormone health, recovery after injury, healthy aging, functional medicine, sleep and recovery, nutrition, and wellness.

Resources for Families

Educational resources help families understand why symptoms sometimes persist, how recovery varies from person to person, ways to support recovery at home, and when additional medical assessment may be appropriate.

Resources for Healthcare Professionals

The Komer Brain Science Institute supports family physicians, nurse practitioners, rehabilitation professionals, and other healthcare providers through evidence-informed education on persistent post-concussion symptoms, hormone health following brain injury, comprehensive assessment, functional medicine, and collaborative patient care.

Presentations and Community Education

Future educational initiatives may include community presentations, healthcare seminars, educational videos, webinars, and patient information guides to improve understanding of brain health.

Building Hope Through Knowledge

Knowledge reduces uncertainty. Understanding replaces fear with confidence. Education empowers patients to become active participants in their recovery.
